I'm sitting around cooking a chicken, browning it actually, wondering how it yielded three thighs in a package marked "Whole Chicken Cut Up" and thinking about consciousness. Or the unconscious. The recipe I'm always cooking when I decide to get one of these packages of whole cut up chickens is a Coq Au Sarah where I add in a lot of garlic and some potatoes. It's a cheat but my kids like garlic. It's not especially fun because you cut up a lot, carrots, onions, pearl onions, mushrooms, things I'm forgetting.
