An Anniversary

Today is the anniversary of that amazing moment in Tienanmen Square. I can't mark the moment the tanks arrived in a few days. And the killing began. But it's hard to forget the images burned in my mind from that event. It appears that the way it's going to be remember is denial and silence.
Are we going to mark it the same way?
Do you recall the images? It's silenced in the place where it really happened. What is it they say about history and who writes it? In an age when we are closing our papers we might consider the ramifications of the loss of free press.
I read or heard yesterday China holds the majority of our debt.

I fail to find that good news.

What I do find good news is hearing this early morning about the birth of a baby to a very good friend. I didn't know she was expecting. I'm ecstatic.
What a great way to wake up. I was thinking of her sister yesterday and how I need to send her little one a present and boom, here comes the news at the same moment her sister was having her baby boy.
What great news. Plus a nephew was getting hitched.
These things bring happier thoughts.
