My Student Ca Wins the Strawberry Festival Poster Contest

Today was extraordinary.
You can SEE this here. YES, That's an article about us in the Ventura County Star. (A paper that I love for their support of teachers, schools, children locally here in our Oxnard area.)

My student won The California Strawberry Festival Youth Poster Contest, one of about 800 children in our area competing. A job well done to Athena Cimafranca.
A huge to do went on in our room, it was great. The children were treated to pizza and boxes of Strawberries and cookies and a visit from a funny character all from Valu Plus, a local market that gives so much to our schools. We earned a $50 gift certificate for the class and gift certificates for school and class to Valu Plus as well as tickets for all children to the Strawberry Festival coming in May on the 21st and 22nd in Oxnard.
Next year one of my personal goals is to enter myself in the adult contest-I'm inspired by the kids!

It was wonderful, lots of folks came out, Mrs. Tatum, who is the Festival representative-a local educator-reporters, my District leadership, the Valu Plus person who brought so much to make it a real party. Yeah.....
