A Poem Written by my 11 year old son, who is now 12

Transformation
Luca Puglisi

When I was an acoustic guitar

I got bored of sitting around

every day

smashed into walls

in my dark guitar case.

I loved when he'd jam with me,

but was always afraid of new strings

when dad put them in.

so I became a fender

I was the best

Long, white, and signed

in the special case next to his bed

so he could play all night long

he played the best songs on me

Iron man, Tnt, Eleanor Rigby,

but he left for Paul

so I became les paul

I was so very proud

in all the best shops,

and in his heart

Dark black and with no cracks

For all to love

Until he dropped me

Now I am ignored

so I became a pick

I made a great sound

for everyone to admire and share

and make many sounds, riffs, and strums

there are many like me

but I am special

with great shine

but he left me for another

so I became an amplifier

Making loud noise and they love it

all the time

styles of Jimi Hendrix

with woos and wows

so loud blasting head off,

and making the guitar sound great

annoying many and yelled at

so I became an acoustic guitar

I am now again acoustic

with a new player

jammin with him

all the time

Everyone thinks I’m not as good

but to him I’m the best

I am never going to change

Forever

  1. It would seem that Luca is the one in the family who is the artist.

With the pain of the role.
And the ability to translate the disharmonies.

    small shoulders, big mind.
As I once said, my son was the best thing that ever happened to me.
