I'm in the middle of a Summer School project painting bug rocks for the garden at the school, they seem destined to be part of sun dials really. So Day one we got big rocks, really big rocks, 15 pounds each. Tons actually. Then permanent marker-ed on the designs, then began Acrylic painting. Tomorrow refine painting, when dry go back in with markers, gold, silver refine lines, poly-urethane. And place. Simple. About 150 kids, ages K to 8th. One very cool thing I learned for 20 cents a pound you buy the rocks at the garden center, bulk large river rocks.
Beautiful stones. Very quiet and zen. Tommorrow which is actually today9I'm up as ever late)

When I was just a boy And the Devil would call my name I'd say "now who . . . Who do you think you're fooling?" I'm a consecrated boy Singer in a Sunday choir My mama loves, she loves me She gets down on her knees and hugs me She loves me like a rock She rocks me like the rock of ages And she loves me
When I was grown to be a man And the Devil would call my name I'd say "now who do . . . Who do you think you're fooling?" I'm a consummated man I can snatch a little purity My mama loves me, she loves me She gets down on her knees and hugs me She loves me like a rock She rocks me like the rock of ages And she loves me
If I was President And the Congress call my name I'd say "who do . . . Who do you think you're fooling?" I've got the Presidential Seal I'm up on the Presidential Podium My mama loves me She loves me She gets down on her knees and hugs me And she loves me like a rock She rocks me like the rock of ages And she loves me She loves me, loves me, loves me, loves me
| Lyrics for: I Am A Rock | | | A winter's day In a deep and dark December; I am alone, Gazing from my window to the streets below On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow. I am a rock, I am an island. I've built walls, A fortress deep and mighty, That none may penetrate. I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain. It's laughter and it's loving I disdain. I am a rock, I am an island.
Don't talk of love, But I've heard the words before; It's sleeping in my memory. I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died. If I never loved I never would have cried. I am a rock, I am an island.
I have my books And my poetry to protect me; I am shielded in my armor, Hiding in my room, safe within my womb. I touch no one and no one touches me. I am a rock, I am an island.
And a rock feels no pain; And an island never cries. |
| Lyrics for: Rockin' Robin | | | He rocks in the tree tops all day long Hoppin' and boppin' and singing his song All the little birdies on Jaybird Street Love to hear the robin go tweet tweet tweet
Chorus : Rockin' robin, rock rock Rockin' robin' Blow rockin' robin 'Cause we're really gonna rock tonight
Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee Every little bird in the tall oak tree The wise old owl, the big black crow Flappin' their wings singing go bird go
Chorus
Pretty little raven at the bird-band stand Told them how to do the bob and it was grand They started going steady and bless my soul He out-bopped the buzzard and the oriole
He rocks in the tree tops all day long Hoppin' and boppin' and singing his song All the little birdies on Jaybird Street Love to hear the robin go tweet tweet tweet
Chorus | |
